Casino Marienlyst
Casino Marienlyst was Denmark’s first casino; licenced in 1902 by then Crown Prince – later King Frederik VIII – who granted Hotel Marienlyst permission to run a casino with cash bets and pay-outs, to fly the swallow-tailed flag and to use the royal crown in its logo.
Until the Danish Gambling Act of 1990, Casino Marienlyst was the only casino of its kind in Denmark. The present casino boasts magnificent views over the waters of Øresund to Kronborg Castle and the Swedish coast line.
